What to wear

I get asked a lot by my clients what should we wear. I suggest not to be too "matchy - matchy". Dress to compliment each other. Pick an accent color and make sure it is in each persons clothing or at least matches, I know the boys may not want to wear pink. It can be in a hair bow, necklace, or shoes. Don't be afraid of colors or patterns. Texture like lace, or jeans is always good. Avoid big logos on t-shirts and large patterns. Layers are always good, add a blazer, jacket, or scarf. Layers can be dropped toward the end of the session for a completely different look. Dress for the season and location. Don't be afraid to mix a'lil dressy with casual. Dress kids in something that isn't uncomfortable to them, so they won't be stress out and have a bad session. Bring props or use locations that compliment you and your family. Like if your family likes to go boating then maybe you may want to do the session near water. Or if your family likes to hike go near a stream or near the woods. You get the idea. And don't forget if time and location allows you can always bring a change of clothes. If you plan on wearing heels I recommend bringing along a pair of flip flops or comfy shoes to wear while walking between locations. Remember to be You in whatever you wear.
